Been working with a great deal of computer programs and operating systems over the last few days. So my mind is filled with various computer metaphors. (Which isn't too unreal, since computers are arguably designed based on how we perceive we think.)
As you may have been following, I've been telling about my efforts to reprogram my own mind, based on the books I've studied and written on the subject. (What's good for the gander...)
Today, I saw that you can set your mind up to be receptive to updates which you need to improve your life. This is intuitive thought processing.
How it works:
Start off with an understanding of how the Law of Attraction works. This is, simply, that you put a request out as an idea you already possess what you want. The result you are looking for is already here. Then it shows up. This takes some practice, but can be developed into a habit.
Now, consider the Universal as a repository for all things - and I mean everything - you could possibly want. There are no limits - really - no limits.
OK, now we've swallowed the two biggest chunks - it gets easier from here.
The metaphor I can think with is these automatic update programs which run on the most modern computers (better on Google Aps, and Ubuntu Linux than Windows). What you can realize is that you are able to upgrade various parts of your programming, just like computers update various small parts of their own operating system (which, like your own, is composed of many, many smaller parts). These small parts can be changed without particularly affecting the overall operation. But, like Microsoft has proved over and over, don't go for major upgrades all at once, since this can crash your system.
You are looking for the small parts. For your own mental programming, you are looking for small attitude changes, or realizations about things which can give you the improved outlook to make the other changes you need.
Simply get the concept that you have received the next idea that you have needed to best solve the world around you. Put this idea out in the best times for it - just as you get up, on your lunch break, just before you go to bed (and before any nap). Then get the feeling of how great it is, how much relief you feel now that you have it. Put an honest smile/grin on your face. Really feel it.
Then let it go and give the Universe time to work on it. Put your attention on something else.
Sooner or later, it shows up. Give thanks and feel gratitude when it does. Often it might come as an insight when you are doing something apparently dis-related or innocuous. Like when you're taking a shower, or walking your dog, or sitting on a park bench...
But when it shows up, be grateful in accepting it. That's how you get more of it. Don't look the gift horse in the mouth or try to figure out how that pot of gold landed in your driveway. Just smile and be grateful that your wish was answered. There's a lot (LOT) more where that came from.
Put that intuitive nudge into action right away. Figure out how you can use it, how you can plug it into your life.
You may want to blog it, like I'm doing - both to keep a record of what you found and also to help others with their own scene. Or it might be an idea you can immediately put to work at your job. Write it down somewhere as a note so when you get back to work, you can develop and implement it fully.
Then get on with your life and use this spark you just received for the rest of your life - until you replace it with something better.
The point here is that you aren't going for a complete upgrade to your mental processes, which would then require a reboot (or in Windows case, multiple reboots). You are going to steadily live your life and you will be improving small things as you go. This is just as valid as suddenly receiving a windfall of several million bucks from that lottery ticket you bought. Sure, it happens, and you can expect it as having happened to you. But it is just as valid to life a nice, simple life - full of pleasure and comfort, free from stress.
And as you improve your life through little changes, life will get better and better. Just like minor course corrections takes the ship from harbor to harbor across the wide ocean - take a look at your map (those visions and dreams you want to achieve) and ask the Universal for the next step you need to take. Then be joyous and grateful when it arrives. Put it to use, then ask for the next one.
Step by step, you'll be improving your life from here on out.
